About Alisa Kasachkoff

New York-based psychotherapist Alisa Kasachkoff, PhD, works with adolescents, adults, couples, and children through a private practice in New York City. Recognized for her knowledge of psychological diagnostics and therapeutic methods, she has a proven track record of improving mental and physical health among patients, and has won both the Irene H. Steiman Gold Medal Award and Woodrow Wilson Fellowship Award. Further, Dr. Alisa Kasachkoff maintains membership at several professional organizations, such as the American Psychological Association and United States Public Health Association. She is also a routine lecturer on topics relating to everything from trauma and stress to adverse circumstances.

In addition to her work as a psychotherapist, Dr. Kasachkoff shares her experience and knowledge of the mental health field with students at Mount Sinai Hospital as an associate professor in the department of medicine and professor of psychology. Having held this role for more than three decades, she teaches students about the dynamics of trauma and stress, in addition to providing post-doctoral fellows and residents with clinical supervision as they provide psychological services to patients. She also consults on patient admissions and serves as a liaison between hospitals and community services. Dr. Kasachkoff is also a consultant to the Gracie Square Hospital and the US government’s work with trauma following the 9/11 crisis.
